VTCT Upscale Path

As you will see above there is an upscale path option for some of the courses. This means, once you have completed the accredited course, if you wish to take your studies further and upgrade to our VTCT course, then the option is there for you.

How does this work?

You attend the required number of days for the accredited course with our tutor at this venue, then if you wish to upscale to VTCT:

  • Training Days – You deduct the number of days you have already attended from the VTCT days and the remaining days will be attended with our assessors at our VTCT assessment centre, in Bideford, Devon. (days can be grouped together to reduce travel time, if required.).
  • Payment – You deduct what you have already paid for your accredited course, and pay the difference + £50 admin fee.

Example:

Massage 2 day accredited course – £395

Upscale to

VTCT Level 3 Swedish Massage (4 days) – £550

Training days – 2 days attended at your chosen venue, further 2 days attend at our VTCT centre in Bideford, Devon

Payment – £550 (VTCT) – £395 (pd for accredited) = £155 balance to pay + £50 admin fee = £205 amount payable for upgradeCourse dates

Mentoring services also available – further information on request.

Reflexology £45

Our Reflexology Practical Workshop will teach you a complete reflexology routine.
Reflexology is an extremely effective therapy based on the principle that reflex points on the feet correspond to each organ and structure in the body and are linked to those organs by energy channels. When illness or imbalance occurs in the body, the corresponding energy channels become blocked, and Reflexology Massage is aimed to destroy these blocks, allowing the energy to flow freely again, so restoring the body’s natural balance, and hence – good health. Cut off dates for booking 10/03/20, 14/04/20 & 19/05/20.

10am – 4pm

Dates for 2021 coming soon

Thai Foot Massage £45

Our Thai Foot Massage Practical Workshop will teach you a complete reflexology routine.  Thai Foot Massage is a traditional technique and is a unique massage of the lower legs and feet. It originated in Thailand over 2000 years ago. It produces a deep and unique feeling of balance, relaxation and well being & involves hands on stretching, massage, use of a stick to stimulate reflex points and follows the Thai energy lines (SEN). Cut off dates for booking 17/03/20, 21/04/20 & 26/05/20.

Managing Stress

The Vital Steps to Mental & Emotional Wellbeing

90 Minute Interactive Workshop

Modality : Zoom

Introductory Price : £10

In this 90 minute workshop we are going to look at what stress is, the types of stress, some of the ways in which stress can be caused and also look at some of the ways in which stress can be managed.

We will also touch on self-care, why that is important, what it is and how it can affect you if you don’t do it.

This is a big subject and can be complex so I am hoping to simplify it and make it easier to understand, we will work in groups in breakout rooms and there will be activities to work through as well which will hopefully be thought provoking and offer some clarity about what you can do for yourself to keep stress under control but you may also find this workshop very useful in respect of working with your clients and it will give you some extra tools in your toolbox to enable you to help your clients more effectively.

Lots to talk about and we will also be doing a some simple exercises together, plus there will be an opportunity to ask questions afterwards and get plenty of support from your peers.

This is a great introduction to the stress management accredited diploma and the VCTC Level  4 Stress Management Diploma’s

Look forward to seeing you all

BIO

Hello, My name is Helen,

I began my career in the health & wellbeing sector, as a fitness Instructor in my mid 20s (I am now 46).  In 2011 I started a wellbeing business, selling naturally sourced aromatherapy toiletries, candles and offering massage and aromatherapy treatments.  I continued to train and I qualified in over 25 modalities of holistic therapy including Level 4 Sports Massage, Reflexology, Pregnancy Massage, Baby Massage Instructor Trainer, Reiki and Stress Management.  In 2014 I completed my City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, to be able to teach in my field.

In June 2015 I was lucky enough to become a freelance tutor for Holistic Therapies Training Academy.

Working as part of a team of tutors and covering the South West Devon area, I am responsible for teaching a wide range of complementary therapy and wellbeing courses and workshops, including stress management and coaching courses.

I have been an adult (16-25) foster carer for the last 5 years so have a good understanding of working with young adults with challenging behaviour and difficult backgrounds.

I have first hand experience of working with children and adults on the autistic spectrum and can understand the challenges that this might bring in a family dynamic.

I started my coaching journey in 2016 after going to London on a NLP & coaching weekend, I was hooked.  Since then I have qualified as a certified coach and I am a member of the Association for Coaching, currently working towards executive coach level. I have been running my Coaching Practice alongside my teaching roles for just over 2 years. I draw on my experience and knowledge of physical, mental & spiritual wellbeing, and bring it into my coaching practice.

I am also due to qualify as a therapeutic counsellor in June 2021 and am excited for this element to complement my work as a complementary therapy teacher and coach.  This journey has also sparked a passion for knowledge about the human condition and personal development as well as expanding my area of expertise it goes some way to completing the cycle of knowledge between mind, body and spirit for me.

Here are just some of my current particular areas of interest:

Human behaviour, self-care, mental & physical health, happiness, imposter syndrome, overcoming fear and conquering challenges, building self–esteem & confidence, working creatively, business development, communication skills and relationships.

I currently split my time between several health and wellbeing projects, teaching and coaching.

I recognise that the quality of the relationship between coach and client or the teacher and student is the foundation for successful outcomes.

I am married with two teenage children, my family is my number 1 priority including my two dogs (aged 1) Sandy & Humphrey. (That’s Humphrey in the picture)

I am a sociable, bubbly person, who loves a challenge and loves to meet new people.

I enjoy the following interests:

·     Cooking

·     Walking my dogs

·     Spending time with my family

·     Cinema & Theatre

·     Music

·     Fitness

·     Exploring

·     Travelling

·     Writing

·     Planning & Organising

I very much look forward to meeting you,

Thank you

Helen
