It is a form of psychotherapy and focuses on challenging the person’s thoughts to change the way they react to emotional issues and problems; as well as focussing on how a person thinks about themselves, the world, their lives and people around them. The therapy, unlike some, focuses on the here and now and not about bringing up events of the past & reasons for how they are feeling today. Instead of looking back to the cause of the behaviour and thoughts, it works on improving the state of the persons mind now and in the future.
