This course in baby massage instruction will provide you with the knowledge required to teach baby massage to parents and guardians for use on their own children using a demonstration doll.

An important part of this service is to facilitate and encourage bonding between the child and parent / guardian.  Massage also has a soothing and reassuring effect on babies and young children.  You will also gain knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathologies, business practice & health & safety.

Baby Massage Instructor Accredited Diploma

Pre-requisites (entry level):

A massage qualification or some relevant childcare / midwife qualifications may be sufficient pre-requisites, however, you will need to clarify this with your insurers before enrolling.

Course format:

1 day practical + home study + case studies.

Training material is emailed to you.

Course content:

Health, safety & hygiene, client care & communications, anatomy & physiology, Baby massage instructor

The home study can be started at anytime prior to the course date, all training material is emailed to you once booking has been made for you to study, please ask for available course dates.

Model Required?:

Group Training = You are required to bring a baby massage doll along to the training

One to one training = You are required to bring a baby massage doll along to the training

Case studies = Yes, you are required to instruct, using a baby massage doll,  to a parent / carer whilst they are carrying out the routine on their baby / infant for each case study.

Case studies:

You are required to complete 3 treatments as case studies.

Accreditation body:

Course Progression:

On completion of On completion of this qualification you may choose to undertake further study; qualifications you could progress to include an accredited diploma or a VTCT qualification in:

Career Opportunities:

Self-Employed baby massage instructor working from home, salon, Spa or Mobile on a one to one basis or for group baby massage clinics.

Training pack (PDF format & word format) A coursework tutor is assigned to you for full support throughout the course. An accredited certificate emailed to you on successful completion of the courseA printed certificate can be posted to you at an additional cost of £5.

Additional Costs:

You will need to purchase your own products and equipment in order to carry out your case studies and practice your skills, i.e. a baby massage doll. We also recommend you purchase a text book to  support your learning, a recommended reading list is available in our training pack.
